Dr. Sharon Crichlow obtained her undergraduate medical degree (MBBS) in 1998 from the University of the West Indies. Her postgraduate training in Internal Medicine in Plymouth, UK led to the MRCP; this was then followed by Specialist Dermatology training in Leicester which was completed 2008.
Alongside her private work at The Skin to Love Clinic, she now practices as an NHS Consultant Dermatologist and is on the GMC’s Specialist Register. Professional memberships include the British Association of Dermatology, British Medical Association, Royal College of Physicians and Royal Society of Medicine among others.
As a consultant dermatologist, Dr. Crichlow has a great amount of experience with all age ranges, across all skin types. She recognises fully the severe impact skin disease has on a patient’s quality of life and this drives her to aim for clinical excellence in her work. Born out of her own personal experiences, her areas of interest include the treatment of acne scarring and the pigmentary disorders commonly seen in patients with skin of colour; this led to an interest in cosmetic dermatology and the use of adjunctive treatments used in the private sector.
She also acknowledges that while we may all aspire to flawless skin and not all of us will reach it, good skin care and rejuvenating techniques are critical in making our skin the best that it can be. This aim can be achieved by all.
