Loose, ageing skin that needs a little bit of love is an extremely common concern many patients come in to see us about. At the Clinic, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to non-surgical skin tightening treatments, however, we thought we’d share a few things that you probably didn’t know about one of our most popular skin tightening procedures, Thermage.
1: Thermage has FDA safety approval to tighten and rejuvenate loose and ageing skin on the face, body and around the eye, as well as on the eyelids themselves, with safe and effective radio-frequency energy.
2: Each treatment uses a disposable, one-time-use tip. Each tip is pre-loaded with the full amount of energy pulses needed to stimulate your skin’s rejuvenation mechanism.
Insider tip: make sure your practitioner uses a new Thermage tip for your treatment and does not share this treatment tip with another patient as you may not get the full amount of energy required and this may impact your results.
3: The latest generation of Thermage devices are designed with your comfort and safety in mind, with built-in ‘Comfort Pulse Technology’, or CPT for short. This means that the device automatically cools the skin and triggers a light vibration during the treatment to distract the mind from the warmth generated during the procedure. The treatment tip also has an in-built safety feature where it will not allow more energy into the skin once it’s reached a certain temperature; this means you can relax into the treatment knowing your safety is a priority. For more information on these safety features please have a look here.
4: The results achieved from a non-surgical treatment, such as Thermage, will not replace the type of results you can achieve with a surgical procedure, such as a facelift. The results from Thermage are designed to be natural-looking, ideal if you simply want to look good for your age without surgical treatment.
5: The most popular treatment areas with our patients are the eyes, neck, ‘mummy tummy’ and the lower face.
6: Jane, our MD, was the UK and European trainer for Thermage. This means she’s trained the practitioners in the UK and Europe who offer the Thermage treatment how to do the procedure and operate the device.
