Businesswomen Kerri and Jane Lewis from The Skin to Love Clinic, St Albans, have won Best Business in this prestigious competition which seeks to find the very best female business talent from across the UK. Founded in 2013, The Skin to Love Clinic was set up as a way of providing solutions to dermatological and aesthetic concerns, as well as offering market-leading non-surgical aesthetic treatments. Jane Lewis, who is also a trained nurse, said that many of the Clinic’s patients have conditions resulting in them suffering low self-esteem, so the treatments they offer can have very positive psychological as well as physical benefits: “Aesthetics isn’t about vanity, it’s about helping people feel good about themselves. There are many skin concerns which really knock people’s self-confidence, such as acne scars, rosacea and pigmentation. Our reason for opening The Skin to Love Clinic was to help those people.”
The business world is full of talented and dedicated female entrepreneurs who not only run successful businesses but in many cases also juggle the needs of their families. The Best Business Women Awards are designed to recognise the achievement of those women across a wide range of business categories and is open to any female business owner UK wide.
Debbie Gilbert, organiser of The Best Business Women Awards, said: ‘We were delighted with the number of entries this year, which came in from all over the UK. This is a tough competition judged by business experts. To win is a major achievement. Winners were selected for their business acumen, determination, creativity and tenacity. Our winners are shining examples of being amazing entrepreneurs who have proved their success to our judges and have shown they have the ingredients worthy of being recognised and rewarded.”
The judges commented “A detailed business story which showed how nothing should stop you from achieving your goals and with the commitment and the desire to build a sustainable and successful business. A number of challenges have been overcome and the business is thriving in a crowded market, with excellent future growth potential to build on amazing success.”
Jane Lewis, Managing Director, after winning last night’s award said: “It’s incredible that we’ve won, I’m pinching myself! We were up against some brilliant UK businesses and the judges’ comments were very generous. Having this business with my daughter has been a dream for me. We couldn’t be happier and have our amazing team to thank for their hard work.”
