Cherry Angiomas are a type of skin lesion. They are named due to their distinctive red colour, caused by broken or damaged blood vessels within them. They can be flat or raised and are usually found on the torso, arms and shoulders (although they can appear anywhere.) they can often appear as we age or for women during a period of hormonal changes such as pregnancy
This type of lesion is benign and should not cause you any problems, but they may bleed if they are scratched, rubbed or knocked. Cherry Angiomas will not resolve on their own, but they can be removed easily
Cherry Angioma can be treated using a pulsed dye laser or PDL , this laser has been used for many years on skin lesions and is very effective, it normally takes just one treatment.
Following treatment the site will look darker than before (like a bruise) this will resolve over approximately two weeks, normal activities can be resumed as there is little or no downtime following this procedure.
*Disclaimer: Results may vary from person to person, because each individual responds differently to treatments.
