Stretch marks sometimes referred to as stria or striae, are tears or rips in the skin often caused by a stretching of the skin. These long, thin marks are often purple or red to start with and then they tend to gradually fade to a white-silver colour. Stretch marks are an extremely common concern that most of us will experience at some stage during our lives.
Anybody can develop stretch marks and their severity and cause can be affected by several different factors. Many people notice stretch marks occurring during puberty, during pregnancy or after rapid weight gain or weight loss. Some patients may also notice the development of stretch marks if they are using some type of medication or if they have certain medical disorders.

It’s not possible to 100% remove a stretch mark with any product or treatment, however, you can dramatically fade them to the point that you may not be worried about their appearance anymore.

There’s no ‘best’ method of removal across the board (as with all medicine). It is more about the most appropriate treatment for the individual. However, this does not mean that all treatments are equal nor if the knowledge and experience of those who are treating you.
