Skin lesions are basically fleshy lumps on the skin and are very common. They can vary in size and colour and can appear anywhere on your body. Some skin lesions can be present at birth, such as birthmarks and moles, while others can develop later in life, e.g. intradermal naevi which are often mistaken for moles.
Your consultation will be with one of our clinical nurses who will assess your skin lesions and decide whether it is suitable for treatment and, if it is, what type of treatment you would benefit from. If the history of the skin lesion or the look of the lesion is a concern you would be referred and assessed by a Dermatologist prior to any treatment taking place.
Before any treatment takes place and if there is any doubt, you will be referred to a dermatologist who will determine whether or not further investigations need to take place. If this is the case, your options will be discussed.
The method we use is hyfrecation (a cauterising blade). All our skin lesion removal treatments are carried out under local anaesthetic cream or injection to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
*Disclaimer: Results may vary from person to person because each individual responds differently to treatments.
