Soprano Ice Laser Hair Removal Treatment
The treatment works by the Soprano ICE laser producing light which is absorbed by the melanin (the natural pigment) found in your hair strands. This light energy heats the hair which destroys the hair bulb where your hair strands grow from and/or the dermal papilla which supplies blood and nourishment to the growing hair.
Laser hair removal will only be effective on hair in the ‘Anagen’ phase of growth at the time of treatment; approximately 10 to 15% of your hair in any area will be at this specific phase at any time. Each session will treat different hairs at this stage in their life cycle so you should see a roughly 10 to 15% reduction in hair per treatment. It’s important to note that this is not an exact science.
The Soprano ICE laser is has a proven safety record and is FDA approved to treat all hair and skin types including tanned skin with the exception of white hairs, as these hairs lack the required melanin the laser targets. A course of 8 treatments is recommended for optimal results; there are some treatment areas where the hairs can be particularly resistant and/or hormonally influenced, such as the chin, which may need extra treatments.
We offer laser hair removal treatments in the Hertfordshire region and laser hair removal London.
How soon after my test patch can I start laser hair removal treatment?
You may have your treatment 24 hours after we perform your test patch.
I have a mixture of hair colour, including some white hair, will laser hair removal be effective for me?
Laser hair removal will only be effective on those hairs which contain pigment, therefore, any white hairs will not respond to treatment.
In this scenario, some patients choose to treat the entire area with Soprano Ice laser because you can treat large areas quickly and entirely each session, and then have electrolysis hair removal to treat any individual white hairs that remain.
How do I remove my hair in-between treatments if I need to?
Any method of hair management is fine if it does not pull the hair out. We ask you not to pluck, wax, thread or epilate your hair in the treatment area because the laser needs the hair strands to be present to absorb the laser energy.
Shaving, trimming or using hair removal cream is a good way of managing any regrowth between your laser sessions.
Should I do anything to my hair before I have laser hair removal treatment?
Shave, trim or use hair removal cream prior to your treatment. We recommend doing this the day before your appointment so that any skin irritation from your removal has a chance to settle down.
Why do you recommend a course of 8 laser hair removal sessions?
There is an approximate 10 to 15% reduction in your hair per treatment; if you take the average of this estimated reduction to be a 12.5% reduction of your hair per session, it would take 8 sessions to achieve 100% reduction.
It’s important to note that this is not an exact science. Some patients will need on-going maintenance laser treatments, for example, those patients who have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
Is laser hair removal suitable for transgender patients?
Absolutely. One of the most commonly asked questions from our transgender patients are what areas can we treat; our reply is quite simply, all of our patients are treated with the utmost respect, so wherever you are comfortable to be treated, we are comfortable to treat.
I can’t commit to having treatment at the suggested frequency. Will this make a difference to my results?
The suggested frequency of laser hair removal is based on the length of the hair growth cycle. The aim is to treat the hairs that are in the anagen phase of their growth that particular cycle; approximately 10 to 15% of them will be. If you miss a round of treatment, you are likely to miss treating those hairs that are in the anagen phase of growth. This may impact your results.
Can Soprano Ice help with in-growing hairs?
Yes, in our experience it does because the treatment aims to slow down and stop the growth of your treated hairs. Effective laser hair removal treatment reduces or completely removes the cause of the problem.
Are there any side effects to laser hair removal?
Soprano Ice has a great safety profile and your entire treatment will be overseen by a medical practitioner at The Skin to Love Clinic.
Consultations are an important part of the treatment process in allowing you to understand the treatment and to establish if the benefits of the treatment are outweighed by any possible side effects. During a consultation, your concerns will be assessed. Your medical practitioner will be able to discuss whether this treatment is appropriate for you, as well as any suitable alternative treatments. This initial appointment is also important as we will perform a test patch for you at this time so that you are safe to proceed with treatment should you decide to.
Your practitioner will discuss any possible side effects, questions you may have and any aftercare you should adhere to prior to you having treatment.

“Absolutely incredible and I couldn’t and wouldn’t go anywhere else now I’ve been with them” Amy
“Laura completed the laser treatment on my legs and I was so impressed with the results, I have come back for the underarm and bikini line too. She is always friendly and chatty but unobtrusive and I would highly recommend the salon and this treatment to friends and family. Whilst it is uncomfortable at times it is worth it for the results. Thanks!” – Alison
“The clinic and in particular Emma, Laura and Jane have been fantastic. I’m a male and have suffered from back and bottom hair growth and treatment will change my life.
