Desoface Fat Dissolving Injections
Desoface is an injectable treatment, with appropriate concentrations of the active ingredient Sodium Deoxycholate in. Sodium deoxycholate is a synthetic form of Deoxycholate Acid (DA), a bile acid which has been used for decades in multiple fields of medicine.
Already present in our bodies, DA emulsifies fat ready for absorption in the gut. When applied subcutaneously via a Desoface treatment, the active ingredient dissolves the treated fat cells which is then eliminated safely by your metabolic system.
Additionally, the Desoface fat dissolving treatment injections combine the Sodium Deoxycholate with caffeine and equisetum which promotes lipid catabolism (lipids used to satisfy your body’s need for energy), has a decongestant effect and promotes draining in the treated area. This means that this treatment has the advantage of not only destroying the fat cells but they are also emptied.
Desoface fat dissolving may be suitable for you if:
- You want to subtly sculpt and reshape an area of your face.
- Reduce the size of your ‘double chin’.
- You want inch loss rather than weight loss.

What are Aqualyx injections?
Aqualyx is another brand of fat-dissolving injection. It is a different solution to Desobody and Desoface., however, it does also include deoxycholic acid, much like Deso injections. Our understanding is that 2 to 8 sessions are usually required of Aqualyx.
Does this procedure get rid of cellulite?
No Desoface is not designed to target cellulite. This procedure is a method of tackling localised fat deposits and getting rid of stubborn fat pockets. In other words, it is a way of reducing excess fat, not removing cellulite.
Does this procedure make you lose weight?
Desobody and Desoface are not weight loss treatments. They are designed to reduce pockets of fat, rather than overall weight. If you are considering seeking advice and help with weight loss and build a more balanced, healthy lifestyle you may like to read more about The National Weight Loss Programme treatment we offer.
Does Desoface hurt?
No, clients do not report that our fat-dissolving procedures cause them pain.
How long do these injections take to work?
This is dependent on you and your metabolism. Many people notice their final result a few weeks after their final session, with many seeing changes and improvements during their course of treatment. The active ingredient Sodium deoxycholate will break down cell membrane of the localised pockets of fat and give you more neck definition.
What are the side effects of fat-dissolving injections?

Swelling and tenderness may be noticed after the treatment and may be noticed for several days post-treatment.
As with all injectable treatments, there is the risk of bruising in and around the area that you are having treated. This will resolve at the normal speed a bruise recovers for you usually.
Extremely rare side effects include an allergic reaction with less than a 0.002% risk; irregularities with a risk of less than 0.03%; abnormal nerve sensations with a risk of less than 0.01%; and hyperpigmentation with a risk of less than 0.002%.
Do fat-dissolving injections really work?
Yes. Desoface and Desobody have clinical papers evidencing their efficacy. The treated fat cells that are broken down and metabolised cannot grow back. If you gain weight or have an unstable diet, nearby fat pockets can become larger; this can be improved with further Deso injections or by improving your lifestyle with exercise and healthy eating.
