Weight management is complex, and many people struggle alone. Having the support and guidance of a medically trained professional can make a significant difference.
Our nurse-led service offers:
- A safe, regulated clinical environment
Your care takes place in our Care Quality Commission-regulated clinic in St Albans.
- Qualified, supportive guidance
Our nurses are trained in medical weight management and follow evidence-based protocols for safe, effective care.
- A personalised plan; not a one-size-fits-all approach
Your journey is tailored to you, your lifestyle, and your goals.
- Ongoing monitoring
We track key health markers such as weight trends, blood pressure, and body composition, so you can see measurable progress.
- Accountability that keeps you on track
Many patients tell us that the regular check-ins, structure, and ongoing conversations with their nurse help them stay motivated and accountable. Having someone in your corner, reviewing your progress and guiding you through challenges, without judgement, can make all the difference.
- Holistic support beyond clinical support
We provide basic education in nutrition, behaviour change, appetite patterns, and sustainable lifestyle habits.
This is a comprehensive clinical service, not a quick fix.
Our National Medical Weight Loss Service may be helpful if you:
- Feel you’ve tried a number of approaches to weight loss without long-term success.
- Would like to explore medically supervised support as part of a structured weight loss programme.
- Want professional guidance rather than doing it alone.
- Prefer a structured, supportive approach with clinical oversight.
- Value safety, monitoring, and personalised care.
Aspects of this service may not be suitable for everyone. Suitability is always assessed during consultation to ensure that any recommended pathway aligns with your health, history, and goals.
Once you’ve completed your National Medical Weight Loss Programme suitability form, your journey begins with a medical consultation that lasts up to 60 minutes; during this time, we review your health history, discuss your goals, and determine whether a medical weight loss pathway is suitable for you.
If appropriate, our nurses may discuss treatment options available within the NMWLP framework, which may include clinically appropriate medical support, discussed privately during a consultation, alongside behavioural and lifestyle guidance.
This page describes our clinical service; specific clinical treatment options are discussed privately in consultation following assessment.
Throughout your journey, your nurse will:
- Support behaviour and habit changes
- Take body measurements and/or composition readings
- Adjust your plan as needed
This consistent clinical oversight is what ensures the programme is safe, personalised, and effective.
While experiences vary, patients commonly report:
- Improved awareness and management of appetite patterns
- Changes in cravings and snacking habits
- Improved mood and general wellbeing
- Improved confidence in maintaining healthy habits
For many, achieving and sustaining weight loss can also contribute to a reduced risk of several long-term health conditions.
As with any medical intervention, some people may experience side effects. These are discussed in detail during consultation and monitored by your nurse.
Physical activity is a key part of improving overall health, but it doesn’t have to mean hours in the gym.
Our nurses can help you create a realistic movement plan that suits your preferences and lifestyle, such as:
- Gentle resistance training
You’ll be guided to start slowly, build consistency, and choose forms of movement you enjoy, making long-term success far more achievable.
- Initial consultation (up to 60 minutes): £25
- Monthly review consultation: with our compliments
- Ongoing clinical programme starts from £290 per month.
You will always have access to a nurse for guidance and support throughout your programme.
