January and February can be a struggle to get through, but take heart because the darkest time of year is nearly over and we will soon be able to enjoy warmer days and lighter evenings. If you’re thinking about having skin treatments to prepare your body for the spring and summer, now’s the best time to start them as treatments will take a while to properly take effect.
Here are our top five skin treatments to help prepare your body for the spring and summer:
Fraxel Dual
Fraxel Dual is a non-invasive laser treatment designed to help with skin imperfections such as fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and sun damage. It can also be used to soften the appearance of scarring and stretch marks. Now is the best time to have the treatment because there’s less chance of sun exposure which will help with the success of the treatment. The FDA-approved laser can be used anywhere on the body, including the face and hands. The laser is precisely targeted at the area of concern, working on the damaged cells and encouraging your body to replace them with healthy ones which will leave your skin looking smoother and less blemished. The number of treatments you’ll need depends on what you would like to be treated – this is something we will discuss with you in your consultation.
Check out our offers as Fraxel Dual is often one of the treatments on offer.
Thread Lift
A thread lift will help with concerns that are typical of ageing skin. Treatment will help to lift loose or sagging skin, as well as helping to smooth wrinkles and lines, and address areas that have lost volume. The threads will stimulate your body’s natural production of collagen and hyaluronic acid which in turn will benefit your skin. Under local anaesthetic, a medical practitioner will place multiple threads into the skin to lift and regenerate the area, improving its elasticity and brightness. The threads are made of the same complex carbohydrates as those used in cardiac surgery – although some are twisted and others have tiny barbs on them – and will be reabsorbed into the body after around five months.
We will be running a special offer on thread lifts in March 2020, so make a note to check our Offers for details.
Profhilo
Profhilo is a revolutionary treatment for ageing or sun-damaged skin that has lost its elasticity and plumpness. A qualified medical practitioner will inject the area of concern with Profhilo which is a concentration of slow-release hyaluronic acid (HA). Over time, the HA will disperse into the tissue, stimulating the production of collagen and a fatty layer which will result in a smoother, more youthful-looking skin. It can be used anywhere on the face or body and you will need two, possibly three, treatments to achieve the best results.
Cristal
Also known as ‘fat freezing’, Cristal is a way of removing stubborn pockets of unwanted fat on the body in a non-invasive procedure that targets the fat cells you want to remove and freeze them. The extreme cold will kill the targeted cells without damaging the surrounding tissue. You won’t see immediate results, but the dead cells normally start to disappear between four and ten weeks. Please be aware that this is not a substitute for dieting – you must be maintaining a steady weight, have a good exercise regime and are following a healthy, balanced diet for treatment to be indicated.
Cristal treatments will be one of our March 2020 special offers, which will give you plenty of time for it to take effect so you can see results by the summer.
Soprano ICE
If you are considering laser hair removal, Soprano ICE can be used on all skin and hair types (with the exception of white hair), even on tanned skin, which is not necessarily the case with other laser hair removal treatments. Soprano ICE is significantly less painful than other treatments and is also more effective. After each treatment, the average person sees a 10-15% reduction in hair (although everyone responds differently and, in rare cases, some don’t respond at all), so we would recommend a course of eight treatments for maximum effectiveness.
We currently have a special offer on Soprano ICE treatments, giving you the opportunity to see results in time for the summer.
